The article contains detailed steps for step instructions with explanatory photographs.

It's rightful to have a full hack or other brand on furniture that has beautiful wooden surfaces. On solid wood furniture you can usually cut down smaller scratches and damage with a fine slip paper. However, if the furniture tree has a stroke or a print mark, it is not always possible to remove the recess, but instead you have to apply other methods.

If you have a deeper mark on a solid wood furniture, you have at least three different methods of renovation to adjust the damage on. You can steam the bowl, refill the damage with plastic wood or brush off the damage and replace with a new piece of wood of the same kind as before. Which method you choose depends largely on the appearance of the damage on the furniture.

Printing marks on furniture are sometimes corrected by steam treatment. The moisture and heat will get the fibers of the wood to rise. The prerequisite for successful steam treatment is that the mark in the wood is soft in size and the wood fibers have not been damaged by hack or the like. Deep so-called print marks may require multiple treatments before the surface is even.

If it does not help with steam, you can choose to fill the recess with plastic wood in a shade that fits the woodwork on the furniture. When the mass has dried, the surface must be sanded fine in the longitudinal direction of the wood and then surface treated in the same way as the entire furniture.

Sometimes, the result will be more fun in the renovation of the furniture if you simply remove the damaged area with stinging iron and hammer or club. Thereafter, the recess should be sewn to fit exactly in the recess on the furniture surface. When selecting wood for the pass piece it is important that the structure of the wood fits nicely with the furniture surface. Also cut to the woodcut so that the direction of fiber and core will be the same as on the furniture to be made.

Regardless of the type of coating you choose, it is important not to forget the finishing touches. All repairs should be completed by grinding with a very fine grain release paper. Then you do the same surface treatment that the furniture has in the past.

If you are going to paint the paint, you must use the same type of paint that has been used earlier on the furniture surface. Also, be advised to paint more thin and several times than ironing one or two thick layers of paint. In this way you get a second to invisible transition between new and old. Just do not forget to sand the dry paint easily before moving on to the next layer.

It's not easy to do this kind of furniture renovation. If you have a piece of furniture that adds extra value, you should instead consider turning to a craftsman who works with furniture renovation.
